NAP – Best selection of the evening

Ludlow 1.15 Demachine (11/8)

Progressive over fences winning impressively at Uttoxeter and Ascot and not disgraced when third at Newbury; good second at Ascot on return last year; not disgraced at Newbury in November; looks the one to beat.

I can see DEMACHINE proving a cut above these. He chased home Remastered in a good race at Ascot around this time last year and should be spot on for this following that encouraging fifth at Newbury on return in November. He is carrying top weight but that’s with good reason and he can get back in the winners enclosure here. Castle Robin is a horse I like and he impressed winning at Exeter. He did disappoint at Wetherby but he tried to mix it with Saint Palais who is a very smart prospect. If he bounces back he is the one to give the fav most to think about. Legends Gold is consistent and is unlikely to be too far away either but has enough to find with the two market principals.

NAP

Taunton 1.00 Demachine (11/8)

Wolverhampton 5.00 Misscall (13/8)

Kodiac filly who needed the experience when down the field on debut over 7f in November but quickly improved denied just a length in third over C&D last month; that was a good race and sure to improve so big chance.

With natural improvement MISSCALL is going to be tough to beat here for Archie Watson. She stepped forward a chunk when only denied narrowly into third over track and trip last month and if she improves on that she should have too many gears for this field. She clocked a decent speed figure even in defeat and it’ll take a serious improver or decent newcomer to spring an upset. Shurut finished second on debut at Chelmsford and looks the threat to the favourite if stepping forward from that initial effort. Kodi Bear filly Bare Necessity also looks to have a bright future but probably needs more time and experience to be seen to best effect. I’ll be keeping an eye on her with a view to the future.
