THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 6 AT DOOMBEN OVERNIGHT!

Race 6 Doomben 6.29 Kerchak (4/5)

Promising type who was denied just a head on debut having began awkwardly and got caught wide; quickly improved from that to win impressively at Ipswich last month; better to come yet and great chance to follow up.

Got to be with the progressive KERCHAK to follow up here and make it 2 wins from 3 starts. He is arguably a bit unlucky not to be chasing a hat-trick as he was only narrowly denied on debut after he fluffed his lines at the start and then got caught wide. He is getting better with experience and looks a cut above this field in my book. Rations is a decent mare but she has just the 1 win from 9 attempts so that alone is a bit offputting. Trench Warfare is a similar profile to be honest but he remains a decent yardstick and should run his race. If you wanted a saver I’d back him to place as he looks rock solid to me. Pedal To The Metal remains unexposed and might fare best of the rest at a price.

Race 6 Caulfield 7.30 Gentleman Roy (10/11)

Improving sort who arrives chasing a hat-trick having impressed at Geelong and then followed up at Flemington last month; form stacks up and can do better again so obvious chance of going in here; most likely winner.

The likeable GENTLEMAN ROY got first run on Savannah Cloud last time and made it count. He clocked a decent speed figure in the process and looks up to confirming that form here and making it 4 wins from just 7 starts. He loved the step up to this trip last time and looks to have plenty going for him again. I do think that is the form line to focus on and I’m expecting them to finish the 1-2 again here. If you wanted a saver then you could back the reverse forecast for insurance. Dundirtcheap is a perfect 2-2 but we haven’t seen him for nearly a year and with the blinkers on he might just come on for it. Still a nice prospect going forward so has to be feared as well. There won’t be a surprise.
