THE AUSSIE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 9 AT CAULFIELD ON SATURDAY!

Race 9 Caulfield 6.40 Tuvalu (1/1)

Progressive sort who has won 4 of his 6 starts to date; impressive again at Warrnambool on return last month; open to further improvement and as good a race as this looks should have too much for them; keep safe.

I’m looking forward to seeing TUVALU out again at Caulfield on Saturday. He is a horse progressing rapidly and there was lots to like about the way he won on return. He almost certainly has more to offer and I’ll be surprised if he’s beaten here. Savannah Cloud has won 2 of his last 3 and looks the most obvious danger to the selection. He is also open to improvement after 11 starts and should run his race. Nicolini Vito is chasing a hat-trick and also has to enter the reckoning but the fav looks potentially smart so he will need to find even more to extend that winning sequence. Loveplanet is an attractive price and might be a bit of value to hit the frame but does need to bounce back.

Race 6 Toowoomba 9.55 Spirit Princess (1/1)

Improving filly who needed the outing when midfield on debut and stepped forward to finish a close third last month; fitter now and likely to be ridden aggressively again and might not come back this time.

I’m struggling to look past SPIRIT PRINCESS at Toowoomba on Saturday morning. She is a filly on the upgrade and only got grabbed late last time. She should be fitter now and is open to further improvement so should be up to taking this out. She is already touching a shade of odds-on at the time of writing and I only expect her odds to shorten come post time. Dazzling Flash is the closest in the betting but she was a bit disappointing at Doomben and will need to better that to land a serious blow. Ned’s Gully makes his debut and could run well but would like to see plenty of market support before he could be of interest. Gazzman was green on debut and should do better with more experience.
