Race 6 Doomben 6.33 Rations (1/1)

Tough mare who continues to knock on the door and again went close beaten less than a length at Sunshine Coast earlier this month; won’t need to find much more to get herself back in the winners enclosure here; keep safe.

This extra yardage can see RATIONS emerge on top. She is a very likeable and consistent mare who deserves to get her head back in front. She has finished runner-up the last four times and on six of her 12 starts. She has some of the best form on offer here and if she comes on from that last run she will take all the beating. The danger looks to be Style Seeker who is unexposed and won here last month. With more to come he should give the selection most to think about. Serenade The Cat won at Sunshine Coast but then disappointed last time. She is a good looking sort who looks to have a bright future so could bounce back but has enough to prove off that recent effort.

Race 4 Sandown 6.25 Castlereagh Kid (1/1)

Promising sort who won head in chest at Gosford on first start for four months at Gosford last month; sure to improve on that and open to further progression so looks well placed to follow up; keep firmly on side against these.

Hard to look past the promising CASTLEREAGH KID here following that big 8-length win at Gosford last month. That was his first start for four months so he should come on considerably fitness-wise. That was just his third start so he remains open to further progression and really should be too good for this field. Aspen Colorado looks promising himself after a win at Casterton and a second at Warrnambool. With more to come he should give the selection most to think about. Santero is a decent mare who also arrives in good form winning at Pakenham last time. Kanzai makes some appeal at a double-figure price but only in terms of a place. The rest all have enough to prove.
