THE AUSTRALIAN NAP RUNS IN RACE 7 AT HAWKESBURY ON SATURDAY!

Race 7 Hawkesbury 5.50 Mr Mozart (6/5)

Good looking chestnut who left previous form behind to win the Phar Lap Stakes impressively at Rosehill; backed that up to win convincingly at Newcastle last month; Pike up again and hat-trick beckons now.

This is a good race but it’s hard to look past the progressive MR MOZART now he has got his act together. He has won his last 2 and looks a colt going places. Pike sticks in the saddle and he ticks a lot of boxes again here. He beat Our Playboy last time and that horse has won since so the form stacks up as well. He will race handily from a good draw and is clearly the one they all have to beat. Vilana has won 3 of his 4 starts and brought up the hat-trick at Randwick last time. Looks the obvious danger to the favourite and should be finishing second. Loch Eagle has good form in the book and is comfortably best of the rest but needs more to spring an upset.

Race 4 Morphettville 5.07 Illation (6/4)

Unbeaten colt who made a big impression bolting up on debut at Pakenham; definitely falls into the ‘could be anything’ category and well placed to make it a perfect 2-2 here; one to keep firmly on side for now.

Bar the front 3 this lacks strength in depth and I think ILLATION can make it 2-2. He hacked up on debut and is only going to improve. He will likely want further in time but this trip suited him last time and while this is obviously tougher he can take the step up in his stride. Chestnut filly Defining is the danger having won head in chest herself at Oakbank. She is 2 from 4 and has more to come so will keep the favourite honest. Asymmetrical is the other one worth a mention. She is 3 from 5 and has impressed lately. She was beaten at Bendigo though and will need more to spring the upset. Of the rest Perceptive still has potential but will likely need a bit more time and experience.
