The talented ONLY MONEY bolted up in this race last year winning by 8 lengths. He looks a horse to catch while fresh as his best two performances came early on in the season. He wasn’t disgraced on final start finishing fourth at Warwick but the handicapper has dropped him 6lb from that so he is only 5lb higher than last year. There is a lot of pace on for a small field so he will be ridden quietly and if settling well in the early stages should pick them up comfortably.

The danger is probably Post No Bills as the betting is suggesting. He has fitness on side having been on the go through the summer months and again ran well when runner-up at Cartmel last month. He will face competition for the lead though and I think will prove vulnerable in the closing stages.

There was lots to like about the way OCEAN QUEST bolted up at Naas at this level last month. She had run a couple of big races in defeat since winning impressively at Navan on return so it was good to see her back to her best. She was strong in the betting and always looked to be going best in the race staying on strongly to come home by nearly 4 lengths in the end. She remains open to further improvement having raced just 7 times and should justify favouritism.

Go Athletico landed back to back wins before chasing home Art Power back in July. He backed that up chasing home Moss Tucker last month and that rival has since won the Flying Five at the top level so that form has been franked. He looks the most obvious danger to the selection but Shartash is also noted as well.
