Preview Pointer
Cork 3.05 Debuchet (9/4)
Beat a good horse on debut over fences, form franked since; sent off favourite at Ascot last month but jockey needed to make more use of him, looking outpaced before keeping on well at the finish; looks the one to beat here.
Despite proving disappointing over hurdles DEBUCHET has made a bright start over fences, winning on debut at Fairyhouse before running a big race in defeat when second at Ascot last time. The step up to 2m4f looks ideal and he looks the one to beat. 9/4 makes plenty of appeal and I can see him going off a lot shorter. Mount Hanover looks the main danger having finished second at Wexford when last seen.
Eye Catcher
Wincanton 1.35 Hurricane Harvey (15/8)
Shaped promisingly in all three bumpers and made a bright start to hurdling career, running on well to finish second at Huntingdon before opening his account at Ludlow latest; likely to improve again and looks sure to go close.
A decent novice hurdle on paper so hopefully it lives up to it’s billing. The front three in the betting could all be smart here and the one that appeals most is HURRICANE HARVEY. He didn’t surprise anyone winning at Ludlow last time and with further progress on the cards looks a leading candidate to follow up. Paul Nicholls won this last year so Southfield Harvest is respected but a bigger danger could come from Uttoxeter winner St Barts.
