Preview Pointer
Meydan 3.05 First View (9/4)
Exciting colt who won both starts at Kempton; form stacks up and if taking to this surface at the first time of asking would be a huge danger to all; open to further improvement and has leading claims.
I’m looking forward to seeing FIRST VIEW at Meydan today. He is an exciting colt and the form of his debut run couldn’t have worked out any better really. The second Stanford has won since and looks a smart colt while the sixth Ya Hayati and seventh Bee Able have won. Even the ninth Chinese Whisperer has gone in so it really stacks up. He followed up at the same venue under a penalty next time and comes here with a perfect record in-tact. He could easily win this en route to targeting the Classic.
Eye Catcher
Newcastle 3.30 Corked (4/1)
Useful mare who brushed aside 12 rivals to win convincingly over C&D 31 days ago; the second has gone close since so the form has been boosted; up 3lb but open to further progress so looks sure to run a big race.
Despite a slight drift CORKED looks the one to beat here for Alistair Whillans. She has won twice over C&D from her last four runs and I see no reason why she won’t run a big race here up 3lb. That latest win looks very solid in the context of this race so she ticks plenty of boxes. Mr Carbonator has been backed into favouritism but he is on a 26 run losing sequence so is hard to back with any confidence. I expect him to drift before the off. Thawry is the one I fear most.
