NAP – Best selection of the day
THE NAP IS DUE A WINNER TODAY AND RUNS OVER IN IRELAND AT THURLES!
Thurles 1.35 Monkfish (11/8)
Looked to have turned a corner winning impressively at Fairyhouse last month, getting off the mark over hurdles; always travelled well that day and stayed on strongly under just hands and heels; should improve again and likely to be hard to beat here.
I’m still not sure how Edwardstone didn’t win yesterday but that’s racing so we look to get back on track today! We head to Ireland for our best bet and MONKFISH looks a standout for Rich Ricci and Willie Mullins. He won impressively at Fairyhouse last time to shed the maiden-tag over hurdles and I’m expecting him to kick on now. Festival D’Ex is unbeaten and looks a big danger but I just think the selection is open to greater improvement and should have too much. Vis Ta Loi should put the pace to the race and isn’t completely ignored but should set it up for the selection.
NB – Second best selection of the day
WE HEAD TO AYR FOR THE NEXT BEST AS WE LOOK TO GET BACK ON TRACK!
Ayr 3.00 Aloomomo (6/4)
Shaped encouragingly when fifth behind Methag on return from nearly 2 years off the track on debut for Sandy Thompson; no surprise to see him build on that to get back to winning ways taking advantage of reduced mark at Kelso last week; should follow up.
Turned out quickly under a penalty ALOOMOMO is a confident selection to come out on top. He has a 7lb penalty but has won off a 12lb higher mark in the past so should have every chance if in the same form. He stayed on well and jumped accurately under pressure so should prove hard to beat again. Calivigny is back down in trip and is respected as won back-to-back handicaps prior to flopping at Kelso latest. At a bigger price Talkofgold got off the mark over fences at Hexham last month and has backed that up with a good second since so is entitled to be on the premises up another 3lb.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Thurles and Ayr on Sunday as we look to get back on track.
