High-class mare who bounced back from final flight fall at Cheltenham with wins at Punchestown and in France; not seen since but goes well fresh and should have too much for her main market rival Apple’s Jade; obvious chance.
She might not be much of a price but BENIE DES DIEUX is a confident selection to come out on top in the Grade 2 feature on Thursday. She is all class and bar that Cheltenham fall doesn’t really have a blemish on her record. She has won 7 of her last 8 and looked better than ever in France last time. It’s no surprise to see her heading the market and she really should be winning this. Apple’s Jade was back to form last time and represents the main danger. Death Duty is back over hurdles but is entitled to need this.

Southwell 2.55 Blowing Dixie (5/6)
Showed his likeness for this surface when bolting up over C&D last time, winning with plenty in hand at the line; carries a 5lb penalty but looks the one to beat given he is 4-5 over C&D; leading claims.
We head to Southwell for the NB on Thursday and BLOWING DIXIE should be hard to beat again. He clearly loves this C&D having won 4 times from 5 attempts and he was well backed to oblige last time before duly delivering. With a similar scenario likely to pan out here he is a confident pick to follow up. Angel Lane was second best last time and will probably chase the selection home again. I’ll be surprised if anything else manages to get involved as the front two look a cut above in this field.
