Notebook Selection

THE NOTEBOOK HAS LANDED 11 WINNERS IN THE LAST 13 DAYS AND IS IN GREAT FORM RIGHT NOW!

Musselburgh 1.45 Thyme White (10/3)

Promising individual who was too keen when a distant second to Goshen on hurdles debut at Sandown; improved for that to go close at Kempton last time though and with the promise of more to come looks a leading player in this field.

Paul Nicholls is almost operating at a 40% strike rate in the last two weeks and he looks to have a good chance of another winner here in THYME WHITE. He showed ability without delivering on hurdles debut behind Goshen but improved markedly to go close at Kempton and with further progress a near certainty he is a major player here. The hood definitely helped him settle last time so hopefully Harry Cobden can get him into a nice rhythm early. Goa Lil was a couple of places behind the selection at Kempton but improved to win at the same venue last time so looks the main danger.

Notebook Selection

Leopardstown 1.55 Mt Leinster (3/1)

Inexperience cost him on hurdles debut at Gowran, still running a big race to finish second; improve a chunk to win by 9 lengths on the bit over C&D last time though, running out a very impressive winner; Townend rides and must go close.

I’m pretty confident that MT LEINSTER can reverse that form with Easywork. He still looked raw when second to that rival on first start over hurdles in November and it was much more like it when winning impressively last time. He should only improve for that and looks a horse with considerable potential. Paul Townend rides over Asterion Forlonge which is another clue in itself as that rival looked pretty talented when winning at Naas last time. It’s an intriguing race and one that should throw up plenty of future winners. I’m expecting Easywork to go forward and set this up for the selection so fingers crossed.
