Plumpton 2.15 That Friday-Ad Feeling Novies’ Hurdle (Class 4) 2m – 13 run
I know CALVA D’AUGE has a double penalty to contend with here so it won’t be easy but for me he is still the most likely winner and with Paul Nicholls running at a 30% strike rate in the past fortnight you’d be foolish to oppose. He has C&D form in the book too which is another positive and even his runs in defeat were promising enough. Fraser Island is the obvious danger but he was turned over at Kempton and has a bit to prove coming into this. It looks between the pair.
Plumpton 2.45 SW Catering Chase (Novices’ Limited Handicap) (Class 3) 2m31/2f – 4 run
This looks a tricky contest but narrow preference comes down on BREAKING WAVES for Noel Williams. The first-time cheekpieces seemed to do the trick when he opened his account over fences at Exeter 3 weeks ago. He made a bad mistake 2 out though so will need to jump a bit better here to win this. A 5lb rise looks fair though and I think he’s a better bet than The Flying Sofa, who is a danger but was all out to win last time. Moabit is back from 14 months off so is entitled to need this.
Plumpton 3.15 Extech Cloud – Humanising IT Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 2m4f114y – 11 run
I had tipped Darebin here initially but he has been taken out this morning so we have a replacement for you now. PARICOLOR is the one that catches the eye. He won impressively at Fakenham and followed up at Sedgefield before running creditably at Market Rasen last time off a 9lb higher mark. Fergus Gillard is back in the saddle and claims a handy 7lb and he will find this easier so he looks a big player to go close. Hawthorn Cottage won nicely last time but is 8lb higher so will need to pull out more to figure.
Plumpton 3.45 Crystal Services Commercial And Domestic Cleaning Handicap Chase (Class 4) 2m214y – 6 run
I’m keen to get Le Coeur Net beat here and I think FINNEGAN’S GARDEN is the one to do that. He is clearly thriving right now and even with the rise in the weights should serve it up to them under Page Fuller. I expect this to be run to suit with Elisezmoi likely to put a good pace to the race. Tara Bridge is probably the one I fear most as he is sporting a first-time visor off a reduced mark so should get involved. It shouldn’t take a great deal of winning which makes the selection a confident one.
Plumpton 4.15 Strong Flavours Catering Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) 3m217y – 9 run
There’s been a fair bit of money for AGE OF WISDOM this morning so connections are clearly expecting a big run. He was doing all his best work late in the day at Lingfield last time and this stiffer test should prove right up his street racing off the same mark here. He won here last year too so clearly acts well at the track. The Tin Miner was back to winning ways over 2m4f here last time and a 2lb rise looks fair so he’s a big player. Little Boy Boru is another to note in an open looking contest.
Plumpton 4.45 Sky Sports Racing Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) 1m7f195y – 7 run
A tricky puzzle to finish at Plumpton today but DYLAN’S SEA SONG might be the answer. She has shown ability in defeat at Newbury behind some smart sorts and now tackling handicap company off a mark of 98 she looks a good bet to go close. The market is certainly speaking favourably. Shadow’s Girl was back to winning ways at Chepstow but struggled last time so has a bit to prove but is definitely considered. Lady Chartreuse still has low mileage and could also be a factor in a winnable race.
