Premier League Darts – Week 3 Cardiff
7PM START
No joy last week as Aspinall costing us a nice treble. We did land a 7/1 winner on Week 1 though so are in decent profit currently. We have a strong looking treble for you tonight so don’t miss out!
Premier League darts heads to Wales for Week 3 and Gerwyn Price takes centre stage with the Cardiff-crowd likely to be right behind their man. Jonny Clayton also makes his Premier League bow as this week’s ‘Challenger’.
MVG is bidding to protect his 100% record when he faces Nathan Aspinall. The latter didn’t play great last week so will have to up his game to challenge the green monster. Peter Wright faces Rob Cross and Gary Anderson takes on Glen Durrant.
Results from Week 2 (Nottingham)
Rob Cross vs Nathan Aspinall 7-5
Gerwyn Price vs Michael Smith 6-6
Gary Anderson vs Peter Wright 6-6
Glenn Durrant vs Fallon Sherrock 6-6
Daryl Gurney vs MVG 1-7
MVG vs Nathan Aspinall – MVG to win
- Thrashed Daryl Gurney last week – MVG was in impressive form last week thrashing Daryl Gurney in a one-sided affair. He averaged 105 on the night and was always in control.
- Only player boasting a 100% record – Looks a good bet to make it 3-3 against an opponent lacking confidence.
- Aspinall sluggish last week Aspinall only averaged 89 against Hendo on Week 1 and was again far from at his best against Cross averaging 95. He lost 7-5 and struggled to find rhythm. I expect him to play better tonight but he faces MVG so may always be struggling.
Daryl Gurney vs Gerwyn Price – Price to win
- Gurney has never beaten Price on TV – Gurney is struggling and it’s not likely to get any easier tonight as he faces Price in Cardiff. For once the crowd will be firmly behind the Welshman and he is expected to have too much.
- Gurney zero confidence – SuperChin just doesn’t look to be playing well enough to trouble Price and I expect this to be one-way traffic. He only averaged 93 against MVG and hit just one 180. He’ll need to be a lot better to trouble the Iceman.
- Price 98 average last week It was a weird match last week for Price as he seemed to play well but found himself way behind before rallying for a draw. I expect much better tonight as a 98 average will be good enough to see off Gurney.
Glen Durrant vs Gary Anderson – Anderson to win
- Meeting for just the second time in their careers – first meeting between the pair since the three-time BDO world champion joined the PDC. Their only previous meeting came way back in the group stages of the 2016 Grand Slam of Darts, which Anderson edged 5-4.
- Anderson will need to improve on last week – Anderson had the chance to see off an injured Peter Wright but failed to seize the opportunity so will need to do more tonight. He did average 95 and hit 4 180’s though so that is good numbers.
- Durrant looked nervous against Sherrock – Durrant had to dig deep to secure a draw again Sherrock, form of which wouldn’t be good enough to beat Anderson. His doubles were notably poor and I expect Anderson to punish him tonight.
