Notebook Selection
BOTH NOTEBOOKS WON YESTERDAY LANDING A 15/2 DOUBLE IN THE PROCESS!
Southwell 2.35 Mesmeric (9/4)
Promising colt who improved from his debut effort to finish second to a smart filly over C&D 8 days ago; no match for the winner on the day but she does look a lovely prospect; this looks a good opportunity with the promise of more to come.
After a slow start to the month it was great to fire in a double on Wednesday and we’re back with two more confident selections on Thursday. MESMERIC was no match for Queen Of All over C&D last time but that filly looks potentially smart so that run could look pretty useful in time. He was slowly away and still looked a bit clueless under pressure. With that experience under his belt he looks to have leading claims of getting off the mark. Betushka has strong form claims and should also be involved.
Notebook Selection
Carlisle 3.25 Portstorm (11/4)
Gradually getting the hang of things over hurdles and put in his best run by some way when runner-up to Escaria Ten at Ayr last month; the front pair came clear from the rest so the form looks right up there; unexposed over this trip; big chance.
I think PORTSTORM has been overlooked in the market here. First Account has won his last two impressively and found plenty last time but is up 7lb and will need more to go in again. The selection is open to plenty of improvement especially at this trip and I was impressed with that run last time. I think the 11/4 looks generous. He was 19 lengths clear from the third at Ayr and on that form would serve it right up to these.
Notebook Double
Here you will find our Notebook Double which is profitable to follow. Remember to back the double (and singles) to consistent stakes and you’ll always come out on top in the end. The worst thing you can do is not back them after a blank day.
