Notebook Selection
THE NOTEBOOK WAS UNLUCKY YESTERDAY AND WE’LL BE LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK TODAY!
Southwell 2.50 Tractor Fred (2/1)
Improved since switched to chasing and put in a big run when beaten just a nose at Plumpton on penultimate start; never travelling at Sedgefield but freshened up since so could bounce back in what looks a very winnable race.
Not a great race so it will be disappointing if TRACTOR FRED can’t finally open his account over fences. The form that saw him go close at Plumpton would see him win this so hopefully he can bounce back freshened up since. There’s nothing wrong with his handicap mark and Page Fuller keeps the ride. Eclair De Guye rates the main danger dropping in class with first-time cheekpieces fitted. He still has a bit to prove for me though as was well held last time and pulled up before that.
Notebook Selection
Naas 3.15 Castle Oliver (7/2)
Highly progressive completing the hat-trick in good style over 2m4f here a fortnight ago, doing all his best work at the finish; up another 9lb but the extra yardage looks ideal and no surprise if he goes in again with further improvement to come.
I was really impressed with how CASTLE OLIVER cut through the pack late on to land a hat-trick of wins over shorter here two weeks ago. He is thriving on his racing and the step up in trip could see him land the four-timer this afternoon. I certainly wouldn’t want to be against him so the 7/2 makes plenty of appeal. Obviously I appreciate a 9lb rise makes it harder again but he appeals as the most progressive in the race so is worth chancing. Cheb De Kerviniou is being gambled and looks the main danger.
Notebook Double
Here you will find our Notebook Double which is profitable to follow. Remember to back the double (and singles) to consistent stakes and you’ll always come out on top in the end. The worst thing you can do is not back them after a blank day.
