THE NAP RUNS AT KEMPTON THIS AFTERNOON!
Kempton 1.30 On The Slopes (11/10)
Got into a nice rhythm off the front to win by 5 lengths here last month; previous form looks very solid so a 7lb rise looks fair with the promise of more to come over fences; looks the pace in the race so could easily dominate again.
We head to Kempton on Saturday for our best bet and ON THE SLOPES looks the one to beat in the novice chase. He won well off the front here last time having been well backed and a similar scenario looks sure to pan out her. He is a likeable sort who has form with the likes of Simply The Betts and Imperial Aura, both of whom we saw win emphatically at the Cheltenham Festival in the week. He should be open to improvement and I can’t see how he gets beat here. Dr Sanderson is probably the one I fear most even though the drop in trip isn’t sure to suit.

Wolverhampton 8.30 Karibana (1/1)
Promising colt who went close over 7f at Chelmsford last time, beaten by an improver; should be open to further progress and the drop back in trip here could see him off the mark; likely to get a good toe into it which should help.
It’s a bit of a wait for Saturday’s NB but hopefully worthwhile! KARIBANA looks a colt with plenty of ability and this looks a good chance for him to open his account at the fourth time of asking. He was only narrowly held by Animal Instinct at Chelmsford and that horse looks a nice prospect so the form should work out. This doesn’t look overly strong so I’ll be disappointed if he can’t open his account. Never Dark is the danger having finished second to Mount Mogan over C&D last time. Meraas wasn’t discounted lightly either as he is well related but you’d think he might need this on debut.
