Race 11 Gulfstream 10.24 Battle Of Blenheim (7/4)
Always holding on to record back-to-back victories over track and trip last time, showing a likeable attitude under pressure to prevail; should get on the lead here so the hat-trick surely beckons? Surprising if anything can live with that kick off the bend.
Our Notebook Derby Champagne runs earlier on the card and he finished behind BATTLE OF BLENHEIM when the selection won by 3 lengths on his penultimate start. Hopefully our tracker can give the form a nice boost. Even so the 6yo has plenty going for him. He has a big kick off that final bend and has sustained it to the line the last twice. It will take a good one to peg him back and I just don’t think anything is good enough in this field. Souper Scat Daddy will probably be closing but I’ll be surprised if he’s quick enough.

Race 7 Gulfstream 8.22 Derby Champagne (2/1)
Not the quickest away and slightly impeded on the first turn before making smooth headway to track the pace through and sweep past on the turn for home; only grabbed on the line by an improver so a reproduction of that should be enough to win this.
I’m expecting DERBY CHAMPAGNE to go one better with Tyler Gaffalione back in the saddle. The last time he got the leg up on this 7yo he was successful and he rode Soglio to nail the selection last time so knows the horse well. That was a big run last time as he probably had to commit sooner than ideal the way the race panned out. It looks strong form as the fourth Donji has already come out and won. I can see him being a warm order come post time. National Honor is probably the main danger having won gamely latest.
