Did well to go so close on debut given there was a clear advantage up the fence; finished well up the centre of the track and missed by just a short head; open to improvement now and this looks a good chance for him to go one better.
We kick off Friday with a confident Notebook horse at Wagga in the shape of NUREMBURG CASTLE for Matthew Dale. He ran a stormer on debut just failing to get up and with that under his belt should be extremely hard to beat now. I’m actually surprised 13/8 is on offer as that really was a highly promising start. Miss Elsie May is a nice looking filly who will be winning sooner rather than later but I just think the selection is open to greater improvement and should have all bases covered.

Race 7 Sunshine Coast 11.15 Neamingah (9/4)
Caught the eye going down just a nose to a nice horse in Enchantingly at Ipswich last time; up in trip today but proven over further so no stamina concerns; a lot to like about his chances here and good chance to finally open his account.
This doesn’t have much strength in depth and the one that leaps off the page is NEAMINGAH. He ran his best race to date when missing out narrowly to a smart horse at Ipswich and with further improvement a distinct possibility he will take a bit of stopping here under Jake Bayliss. Toucan Sam is second in the betting and looks the main danger as he could have more to offer over this longer trip. Jerry Zanda also acquitted himself well at Doomben last time so is another to consider. It’s between the three.
