Vichy 10.15 Up And Go (8/11)
Promising filly by Mayson; made an eye-catching start when fourth at Chantilly earlier this month; she made good progress up the rail before just keeping on; should know a lot more now and this much easier so should take advantage.
With usual improvement from debut to next run UP AND GO should take a bit of beating here. Obviously she is short in the market and it’s not ideal making this our best bet of the day at such skinny odds but it’s a tough card and we need a winner after a difficult week over in France. If she steps forward for that initial effort she will have too much. Copin D’Abord has Soumillon in the saddle and stands out as the main danger to the selection. I’ll be surprised if anything else gets involved.

Vichy 1.58 Soft Light (10/11)
Smart colt who finished sixth in the Arc behind Waldgeist; hasn’t been seen since but looks to have a class edge on these and will be tough to beat with further progress to come; this is a big class drop.
Jean-Claude Rouget has always thought a lot of SOFT LIGHT and his sixth-place finish in the Arc shows just how capable he is. This is a nice bit of placement on return and he’s expected to prove too good with conditions ideal coupled with the drop in class. If the selection does fail to fire Chipiron is one of the dangers having ran well when last seen third behind the useful Funny Kid at Deauville. He was only beaten two lengths on that occasion so should be in the mix.
