Track specialist who shaped well in a competitive handicap at Chantilly back from a short break; stamina in abundance and expected to pick these up in the closing stages with Clement Guitraud taking off a handy allowance.
The original NAP Marshall Lessing is a non runner so that’s left the door wide open for SARENDAM to get back to winning ways. He is a likeable sort who has a good attitude and in a race lacking any strength in depth he looks to have crystal clear claims of picking up the prize. He stays strongly so will be hitting the line strong and with the handy claim on his back too it makes life just that little bit easier. 2/1 seems quite big to me with the original favourite out so I make him my best bet on the card now.

Nantes 5.45 Miss Rafael (11/4)
Likeable filly by Rock Of Gibraltar; stuck her neck out to prevail over slightly shorter at Fontainebleau in heavy ground in March and backed that up with a big run in fourth last time at Deauville; fitter now and leading claims.
Victor Ludorum won the 2000 Guineas at Deauville impressively yesterday to land us a 2/1 winner. Hopefully we can follow up on Tuesday and we head to Nantes. MISS RAFAEL is proven in this grade and better and looks a good bet to get back to winning ways following an encouraging effort at Deauville last time. Lyneham and Desert Dune are both live dangers with the latter probably feared most. At a bigger price Ooby Douby needs to bounce back but it is a possibility so he might be worth an each way saver.
