Promising filly who has shown plenty in two runs to date; beaten less than a length on debut here and then improved to finish fourth in a Listed race behind Springs Of Carmel last time; more to come and clearly the one to beat.
Some good racing from Vaal on Thursday and ECSTATIC GREEN looks the one to beat in the Maiden Juvenile Plate. Her experience should count for plenty here and she is a confident selection to open her account at the third time of asking. At a bigger price Powder Puff might be value to hit the frame as she is better than what she showed last time and could be overpriced if bouncing back. Super Tanaye is also respected having showed encouragement when fourth on debut.

Vaal 1.25 Maputo (13/8)
Sent off a huge price on debut but caught the eye running on strongly down the centre of the track to snatch fourth, beaten less than two lengths at the line; looks sure to improve bow the penny has dropped and can get off the mark.
There was a lot to like about the way MAPUTO ran on to finish a closing fourth on debut at Turffontein. With usual progression from one run to the next he should be bang there. This looks a good opportunity for him to make the breakthrough and I’m happy to chance him at 13/8. I actually thought he’d be a bit shorter than that so no grumbles with the price at all. Intothemystic is a consistent type who should be thereabouts. Soul Connection is probably the main danger.
