Yarmouth 7.00 Gigi’s Beach (5/4)
Returned from a 234-day absence to make a winning debut at Kempton last week, nicely clear at the line; won with plenty up his sleeve so a 6lb penalty is unlikely to stop him turned out quickly; can build on that.
There was a lot to like about the way GIGI’S BEACH won at Kempton on handicap debut. He showed a smart turn of foot to settle matters on that occasion and under a 6lb penalty he looks the most likely winner. He has only raced four times so is open to plenty of improvement and should continue to defy the handicapper for now. Hard to pinpoint an exact danger as the opposition doesn’t look overly strong in behind but perhaps Sparkling Diamond, who finished behind the selection last time, can hit the frame at a price.

Lingfield 7.45 Beau Geste (13/8)
Progressive gelding who has won three of his last four and put in a career best at Wolverhampton last time, keeping on strongly; 3lb rise looks fair and this trainer won’t be done improving him yet; tough to oppose.
Rowing in with winning machine BEAU GESTE again at Lingfield. This horse has thrived since joining Tony Carroll and you wouldn’t rule him out defying a further 3lb rise for that latest win. He started winning off a mark of 46 and is now rated some 14lb higher at 60 but he goes through his races with such ease there could still be more to come. I’m happy to keep him on side against this field and 13/8 is fair. There isn’t much strength in behind but Savitar has won over this C&D so might be a bit of value to run a place.
