Toulouse 1.07 Prince Sumitas (11/8)
At the top of his game when last seen in July last year bringing up the hat-trick gamely at Dieppe, prevailing by a neck at the line; won five of his last seven so even with the layoff I think he’ll prove too good for these.
This looks to revolve around SUMITAS here for Macaire and Prichard. He is bidding for a fourth consecutive victory and his last three wins were in a better class of race. He has been off the track for nearly a year but can defy that absence and make a winning return. His odds are a bit skinny but that’s with good reason and he is tough to oppose. Paquos ran well when third at La Teste and should come on for that so looks the main danger to the selection. Via Dolorosa is also considered back from an absence.

Useful colt who was back to winning ways at Lyon last time, dictating and keeping on strongly to win by two lengths; steps up in trip but positive tactics likely to be adopted again and should prove tough to pass.
Sticking with the enthusiastic STEP BY STEP here with P C Boudot booked for the ride. He steps up in trip which he has to prove he stays but looks a smart horse and I can see him being tough to reel in. The danger looks to be Mensen Ernst who won over this trip at Bordeaux when last seen. He is consistent without being flashy so will run his race but I think the favourite can improve past him. Euclidia was only sixth last time and has a bit to prove also stepping up in trip.
