Race 2 Lone Star 8.07 Three Day Weekend (6/5)
Showed a great attitude to squeeze between rivals and come through strongly to finally make the breakthrough last time, notably strong at the finish; scope to improve and looks well placed to go and follow up.
I’ll be surprised if THREE DAY WEEKEND doesn’t win this. I loved the way he came through between rivals before powering away at Sam Houston last time and racing over the same trip in arguably an easier contest he would only have to match that to go in again. He is likely to improve now he has that first win to his name and looks a horse on the up. 6/5 is a good price in my book as I thought he’d be a shade of odds-on. Queen’sredboy is the main danger having switched yards. Might need the run though.

Race 3 Fort Erie 7.16 Orbiting The Sky (11/8)
A lot to like about the way she closed in rapidly from off the pace to power clear and make a winning debut at Penn National in February; can improve plenty and will know more now so hard to see anything stopping her with that finishing kick.
We head to Fort Erie for our second best bet of the night Stateside and ORBITING THE SKY looks a good bet to come out on top in Race 3 and make it 2-2 on debut for Carlton Johnston. Found plenty for pressure so won’t mind if this does turn into a slog and looks the most likely winner to me. Kinzua has experience on side and ran well on the turf last time. Not sure she’s as good on dirt though and will have her work cut out to hold off the selection in the closing stages. Diamondsinhereyes is also respected.
