Smart colt in the making and confirmed the promise he showed when finishing second at Southwell to open his account over C&D last time, running on well to justify favouritism; turned out quickly under a penalty and the one to beat again.
A 6lb penalty isn’t likely to stop INTREPID ITALIAN at Lingfield. He won readily off a mark of 67 on handicap debut and could be a progressive sort. He will continue to improve with racing and is expected to be a warm order again here. Sir Rodneyredblood is likely to force the pace but may be taken on by Alex Gracie. The selection will look to get settled before coming through. Gig’s Beach is the danger as he looked good winning at Kempton before running a bit flat at Yarmouth.

Dutch Art filly who is a sister to the talented Don’t Touch; dotted up on handicap debut at Pontefract last week, unchallenged; well-in under a penalty and it would take a brave man to oppose; most likely winner.
There was a lot to like about the way EXCEPTIONAL dominated the opposition at Pontefract last week. She took it up with nearly 2f still to run and never saw a rival thereafter. With the promise of more to come given that was just her third run she can go in again. Probably at the main expense of Nehaall, who is the only one I can see posing a danger to her. This Pivotal filly did well to win at Wolverhampton but the handicapper has taken no chances with a mark of 79. Seems harsh so the fav is a confident selection.
