Greyville 11.30 Rex Union (1/1)
Duke Of Marmalade colt who is a half-brother to Wild Coast who won three times between 6f and a mile including a Group 2; ran a race full of promise when fifth on debut only beaten two and three quarter lengths; sure to do better now.
Given he was drawn wide on debut REX UNION did well to finish as close as he did. He looks a sure-fire improver now and is a confident selection to come out on top here. He is well bred and can go on to better things. This doesn’t look overly strong so it’s a very good opportunity for him to make the breakthrough. Royal Escapade has placed twice in four starts and will probably emerge as the main danger but I’ll be surprised if he has enough to turn over the favourite who has an obvious chance.

Greyville 3.30 Leading Fast (6/4)
Good looking filly who has done little wrong in recent starts chasing home Eskimo Kisses to miss by a short head at Turffontein and then beaten a length by the same horse at Vaal; slowly away but ran on well last time; big chance now.
Hard to get away from LEADING FAST here. If she reproduces that latest second then she will take some beating. She was a step slow away so if she’s on the button from the gate and gets away on terms I can’t see her being beaten. She has finished second on all of her last three starts but there’s nothing wrong with her attitude to my eye and she knows how to win having scored over 6f at Vaal earlier in the year. If she gets the gaps she wins I think! Hard to pinpoint a danger but Mr Minister may run into a place at a price.
