Turffontein 12.40 Veseo (6/5)
Potala Palace filly who ran a very promising race when third to Golden Years at Vaal over 6f on debut last month; should know a lot more now and looks to have been found a glaring opportunity to get off the mark; hard to oppose.
This race lacks strength in depth so VESEO is a confident selection to go a couple of places better and open her account. She shaped with plenty of ability when third at Vaal on debut and is expected to step forward enough for the run to take this out and make the breakthrough. Veld Flower is well bred and can improve so is feared most but you’d be surprised if the favourite didn’t prove the stronger based on the promise from that first run. I don’t expect anything else to get involved but Forward March is also respected.

Turffontein 11.30 Shezaglo (7/4)
Captain Of All filly who was in need of the experience when down the field on debut over 6f here; improved off the back of a 96 day absence to finish fourth over 7f here; can improve again for the step up to a mile and looks to have a major shout.
Expecting SHEZAGLO to improve again and make the breakthrough in the Juvenile Plate. She is going the right way and outran odds of 50/1 to finish fourth last time. The extra yardage looks ideal and she is fully expected to make the most of this opportunity. 7/4 seems generous to me if anything. Spice Market has also had two runs and was better last time. Still needs a bit more to trouble the favourite but does look the most logical danger. Gee For Go went down narrowly last time and also comes into the reckoning.
