NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT CATTERICK ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON!
Catterick 3.25 Cormier (11/8)
Born To Sea gelding who ran on well to open his account over this C&D last month fit from a hurdles outing; far from disgraced when runner-up off this mark over 1m6f here last time and should enjoy coming back in trip.
It was very much gamble landed for CORMIER over C&D on his penultimate run. He failed to justify favouritism up in trip last time but back down to 1m4f he looks the one to beat. He should be a fair bit better than a mark of 56 so it will be disappointing if he can’t make it two wins from his last three. Point Of Honour could only finish third to the selection but did build on that to win at Beverley so may emerge as the main danger. He is the closest to him in the betting so it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s how they finished. Bollin Neil still has low mileage so could have more to offer. Definitely respected but might need a bit more time to strengthen up.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT NEWCASTLE ON TUESDAY EVENING!
Newcastle 5.15 Temper Trap (9/4)
Slade Power gelding who arrives on a hat-trick following a gutsy win at Musselburgh and an impressive two-length success at Hamilton last time; can keep improving and taken to defy a 5lb rise on tapeta debut and make it three in a row.
The likeable TEMPER TRAP is taken to come out on top again at Newcastle tonight. He has put in two likeable performances and recorded a career best winning at Hamilton last time. He looks firmly on the upgrade and a further 5lb rise shouldn’t be enough to anchor him yet. This is competitive and I respect Savanna Gold a lot as he is a horse I like. He went close last time so a first win certainly isn’t far away. I just think the favourite has all the momentum right now and will be tough to stop. I definitely have it between the front pair and that’s reflected in the betting to a certain extent. Sands Chorus is next but I’ll be surprised if he proves good enough to land a blow.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Catterick and Newcastle on Tuesday. Not to be missed!
