NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT THE CURRAGH ON SATURDAY AS WE LOOK TO GET BACK ON TRACK!
Curragh 3.15 High Definition (7/4)
Galileo colt who made a highly promising debut winning readily over C&D 35 days ago, sprinting home; sure to improve from that initial effort and falls into the ‘could be anything’ category so one to take very seriously.
Aidan O’Brien targets this race having taken the last 9 renewals and HIGH DEFINITION looks a leading hope this year. This son of Galielo overcame greenness to make a winning debut over C&D on debut and he no doubt would have learnt plenty from that so should be extremely difficult to beat now. The main danger may come from the Jessica Harrington-trained Ace Aussie who stepped forward plenty to beat Colour Sergeant at Cork last time. He will need much more to trouble the favourite though. The O’Brien second-string Brazil shouldn’t be too far away and may be holding on for a place in the closing stages. Looking forward to seeing the selection out again.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT CHELMSFORD ON FRIDAY NIGHT!
Chelmsford 7.15 Australis (9/4)
Looked a horse going places when beating subsequent Northumberland Plate winner Caravan Of Hope at Wolverhampton on return; second to that rival next time before losing little in defeat the last twice; this easier so leading chance.
The one to beat here is AUSTRALIS for Roger Varian. I don’t think he is done improving at this trip and back down into easier company his class should shine through. It’s still quite a good race with both Pleasure Garden and Caledonian Crusader likely to give him something to think about but on the figures he has them held. The former will probably put the pace to the race but I don’t see our selection being too far away and he should be finishing best. Hopefully it doesn’t turn tactical as that wouldn’t suit. True Destiny continues to run well without winning and has become expensive to follow so is passed over again but should be thereabouts.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at the Curragh and Chelmsford on Saturday afternoon.
