Chelmsford 5.30 Perfect Sunset (7/4)
Iffraaj filly who easily ran her best race to date when beaten just a length by a fellow improver in Fauvette at Kempton last month; can build on that encouraging run and looks poised to make the breakthrough; big chance.
It didn’t happen for the NAP on Wednesday but it was a good day on the whole so I know we aren’t far away from getting another winning streak together for our best bet. We head to Chelmsford on Thursday and PERFECT SUNSET can go one better. She showed what she was capable of last time and can step forward from that again. If she does she is a danger to all here and I expect her to have too much. Even at the time of writing I can see she is a bit uneasy in the market at 7/4. It wouldn’t surprise me if she did drift a bit but that wouldn’t concern me as while she may not be visually as attractive as some I’m more worried about the figure she posted and I’m more than happy to side with her.

THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT WINCANTON ON THURSDAY!
Wincanton 2.45 Thahab Ifraj (15/8)
Can be inconsistent but no reason to doubt the form when making a winning return over C&D in October; again stayed on strongly to run down a nice prospect in Pisgah Pike at Kempton latest; should land the hat-trick if in the same form.
I’ve got to be with THAHAB IFRAJ here. He beat a good horse last time and has a serious engine. I don’t expect this to be easy but I think he will stay on strongly again and should get to them late if running to the same level as what we’ve seen the last twice. He’s proven over this C&D as well which is another plus. Accomplice could emerge as a danger but he’s hard to back with any confidence after blowing out here last month. He’ll need to show more before I could part with any hard earned. Neff is down to a mark of 122 now and should also be thereabouts but will probably find one or two too good. Beltor is talented but doesn’t always channel it in the right direction and isn’t getting any younger.
