NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT SANDOWN ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON!
Sandown 2.25 Star Gate (13/8)
Expensive purchase who certainly didn’t let connections down when winning impressively on first start under Rules at Chepstow in October; visual impression backed up by the clock as well; sure to improve and obvious chance of making it 2-2 here.
The NAP is on a tough run at the moment, no doubt about that. We’re working hard to get it back on track and head to Sandown on Friday afternoon. STAR GATE looks an exciting prospect and I loved the way he won at Chepstow on first start under Rules for Evan Williams. He is open to any amount of improvement and looks the one they all have to beat here. Sending Love was off the mark at Ffos Las and will be a danger if this doesn’t come too soon. Valleres has some solid form in the book and chased home a nice horse in Threeunderthrufive at Ludlow. I just think the favourite looks to have the most potential going forward and I’m keen to keep him on side.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT NEWCASTLE ON FRIDAY NIGHT!
Newcastle 6.15 Silent Hunter (13/8)
Dutch Art colt who showed plenty of ability on two runs in 2018 finishing fourth on debut at Lingfield before improving to finish runner-up at Kempton; nearly 2 years off but market speaking positively and could be a cut above these.
It is a bit of a guessing game with SILENT HUNTER given we haven’t seen him for nearly 2 years but he remains in training and if retaining his ability he should have too much for these. That debut effort was eye-catching running green before staying on well towards the finish and he backed that up chasing home a smart looking sort in Nivaldo at Kempton. The layoff is concerning but the market is already leaning towards him and he could easily be too good for these. Kells is a fair yardstick but is exposed in comparison. Thrill Seeker should do better in time but he has been well held the last twice and needs to step forward quite a lot you’d imagine to win this.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Sandown and Newcastle on Friday.
