Race 7 Laurel Park 8.23 Hello Hot Rod (11/8)
Promising colt who ran a huge race on debut when failing by just a neck over 6f here in October; quickly stepped forward from that up to 7f staying on strongly to win convincingly by over four lengths; mile can prove ideal so hard to oppose.
The step up to a mile can see HELLO HOT ROD step forward again and if he does he is comfortably the one to beat in this field. He has looked a colt with a promising future in two runs to date and can make it two wins from three here. Shackqueenking and Lamplighter Jack both like to lead so hopefully they take each other on. A strong pace will suit the selection especially tackling this trip for the first time. A few of these could improve to emerge as the danger but I think it’ll be Royal Number who was only beaten half a length last time and that form entitles him to plenty of respect on just his fourth start. Shackqueenking won nicely last time and is another one to be fearful of here.

Race 8 Aqueduct 8.45 Foxtail (7/4)
Smart mare who blew rivals away at Saratoga on penultimate start winning by over 15 lengths; followed that up with a stylish win at Belmont last time and in her current form is the one they all have to beat again.
It’s hard to oppose the winning machine that is FOXTAIL here. This mare by Mizzen Mast has won four of her last five and she couldn’t be in better form right now. The way she left rivals standing on penultimate start was mightily impressive and she backed that up last time dominating throughout again. She is the obvious pace angle here and could get a soft lead. If they let her loose on the front I can’t see how she’ll be caught. Daphne Moon has looked promising in a handful of starts to date and is unexposed so could run well. Ujjayi ran a nice race when beaten half a length last month and is also respected off the back of that performance. Hopefully the favourite gets away and doesn’t see a rival.
