Race 7 Mahoning Valley 8.02 Iron Men Of Metz (6/5)

Progressive type who has won two of his last four; did too much early last time and should get back to winning ways if judging the fractions better tonight; one to keep on side in this grade with more to come.

We head to Mahoning Valley tonight for our best bet Stateside and IRON MEN OF METZ is strongly fancied to get back to winning ways. He has won two of his last four and looks on the upgrade. He probably did too much too soon last time and if setting better fractions I can see him grinding these rivals down into submission tonight. He is definitely the safest option in this field. Master Legionaire ran well when second over track and trip last time and a repeat of that would probably see him as the main danger to the favourite. At a double-figure price it wouldn’t surprise me if Mobil Magic finished best of the rest. He has been highly tried in recent times and could run better than his odds suggest.

Race 7 Gulfstream 8.09 Greatest Honour (13/8)

Likeable colt who has improved with every run and missed by just a head at Aqueduct when last seen in November; can step forward again and if he does he is a danger to all in this field; big chance of making the breakthrough.

This looks a great opportunity for GREATEST HONOUR to record his first win. He has only had 3 starts but has looked progressive leaving his debut form behind to finish a close third at Belmont and then stepping forward again when denied just a head last time. This is easier and he only needs to repeat that to go in you’d think. He can improve and should be a cut above this bunch. Maxim Moment looks promising having finished third on debut. This is tougher but he is open to improvement so may well end up being the one to give the favourite a race. Another Duke has had four attempts but also clearly has ability so shouldn’t be entirely dismissed.
