Leopardstown 1.15 Advent Insurance Irish EBF Mares Hurdle (Grade 3) 2m4f

As with most mares’ events Willie Mullins usually dominates them, especially in Ireland and he looks to have a very strong hand in this to make it 5 wins in-a-row. CONCERTISTA was so impressive at the Cheltenham Festival before backing that up on her seasonal reappearance in a Grade 2 at Fairyhouse. She won that day with so much up her sleeve she will take a lot of beating again and is my best bet of the day.

The main dangers are stablemate Buildmeupbuttercup and Black Tears, the latter especially could come on fair bit from her seasonal debut but even still I’ll be surprised if she has enough to overhaul the favourite.

After thrashing subsequent winner Morning Vicar at Uttoxeter I made DEMACHINE my Value Tip at Ascot last time and he certainly didn’t disappoint. He travelled well off the pace and came through strongly picking them off one by one before staying on well. His task is made harder again by an 8lb rise but he is thriving and I can see him running a big race. He has to be my selection again as he looks to land the hat-trick.

Sevarano has done well since sent over fences winning at Sandown and Exeter last time. He is comfortably the biggest threat to the selection and I can see these two fighting it out. Dickie Diver is a fascinating runner back from a monster absence and is also feared especially if well punted.

Leopardstown 1.50 Neville Hotels Novice Chase (Grade 1) 3m

This looks like a decent little race for a 6 runner field but MONKFISH is the one they all have to beat. His win in the Albert Bartlett is working out so well and it seems he will have no trouble replicating that form over fences. He made his chase debut at Fairyhouse with an easy win and this longer trip will bring the best out of him. I would be surprised if he was beaten and that’s very much reflected in the betting with him being a short priced favourite.

Latest Exhibition was only a neck behind Monkfish at Cheltenham but he disappointed last time behind Pencilfulloflead and it is hard to judge if he is as good over fences. He doesn’t look the most straightforward to me. Eurobot could also be a danger at a bigger price with plenty to come it seems.

Newbury 2.05 MansionBet’s Watch And Bet Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race) Class 2 2m41/2f

Initially I sided with Ch’tibello here but he was taken out and then Kateson was also deemed a non runner on Tuesday morning. That has left just 5 runners and the one I’m siding with is CALVA D’AUGE for Paul Nicholls and Angus Cheleda. This 5yo put his disappointing reappearance behind him when winning well at Taunton last time and with the promise of more to come he looks a leading contender here.

Nordic Combined is held on that last run but is still a danger. He’s probably better over two miles though and might come there going well but not see it out. The Cob is on a hat-trick but a 5lb rise demands a lot more in this company.

Leopardstown 2.25 Matheson Hurdle (Grade 1) 2m

This looks a very competitive race with Sharjah going for the hat-trick. I think this is a better race than he has won the last couple of years and he may need the run. A few of these have already raced against each other this season and I think today is the day for SAINT ROI to win. He got shuffled back turning in last time and lost out to Abacadabras by a small margin. With a bit more luck in-running he should go close in this the way he finished the race off.

Abacadabras is a big danger again as could beat Aspire Tower if he can hold his form of his seasonal reappearance but I do feel he may have just had the fitness edge. Saldier hasn’t been seen for 409-days since winning the Morgiana and cannot be completely ruled out either.

Newbury 2.40 MansionBet’s Best Odds Guaranteed Mandarin Handicap Chase Class 3 3m2f

Copperhead won this last year so it’s usually won by a progressive sort and while REDFORD ROAD might not exactly fit that profile I do think he’s a very useful horse. He has been beaten by wide margins the last twice but has been mixing good company and down 3lb and back over a longer trip I think he’s going to go close. I’m surprised he is 10/1 but I guess there are others with more attractive form coming into it. One of those might be Cuban Pete who is on a hat-trick. A 9lb rise certainly asks a question though.

Others to note include Manofthemountain who is a likeable type who shaped as though still in good form when fourth at Cheltenham. Nestor Park is up in trip and is also one to consider.

Leopardstown 3.00 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Handicap Hurdle 2m4f

I did have a strong fancy in this at a big price in Max Flamingo but he has been taken out now so I’m going to take 2 against the field. The first of those has to be the hat-trick seeking GABBYS CROSS for Henry De Bromhead. He held on by just a short head last time so needs more off the back of that but he is clearly thriving right now and does remain open to further improvement.

Gavin Gromwell is on a hat-trick in this race and with PRESENTING MEGHAN unseating at Limerick a few days ago she could have a good chance of running a big race also at a price. The yard are going notably well too which is another positive and she looks worth including.

Newbury 3.15 MansionBet Challow Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1) (GBB Race) Class 1 2m41/2f

Bravemansgame has gone from strength to strength since finishing second on hurdles debut and really impressed over C&D last time readily seeing off his rivals. I’m not sure the third Bothwell Bridge ran his race though and if you’re being overly critical you can pick holes in the form. He should run a big race but I’ve got to be with STAR GATE following that impressive romp at Sandown. He showed a sparkling turn of foot in testing conditions and left rivals standing. It was only a 3-runner race but he went effortlessly clear and looks to have enormous potential. This requires another step up but he is one I want to keep firmly on side.

Does He Know landed the hat-trick at Cheltenham last month and is entitled to go well. He’s a horse I like so I’ll be hoping he can finish second but Wilde About Oscar might have something to say about that. The Skelton’s are red-hot and like the selection he has big potential and my gut feeling is he will be the one to give Star Gate a race.

Newbury 3.45 MansionBet’s Faller Insurance Handicap Chase (For The Hallowe’En Trophy) Class 3 2m1/2f

A better race than usual to round off a quality card from Newbury and last time out winner KING D’ARGENT can go in again. He made all the running to score at Warwick last time and that was a very good performance. The handicapper was clearly impressed raising him 11lb but with improvement to come over fences he may well prove ahead of the assessor on this occasion.

Exelerator Express has shaped well in two starts over fences and is handicapped to play a hand here. Shanacoole Prince jumped well at Southwell and if he improves he could emerge as the danger to the selection.
