NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS AT MEYDAN IN DUBAI ON THURSDAY AFTERNOON!
Meydan 4.50 Last Sunset (6/4)
Promising filly who caught the eye on first crack over 7f on dirt here last month chasing home subsequent UAE 1000 Guineas winner Soft Whisper; sure to improve from that so hard to oppose and should have too much.
The NAP just couldn’t get a run yesterday and we’ll be hoping for better luck on Thursday as we head over to Dubai for our best bet. Teofilo filly LAST SUNSET should be tough to beat for Saeed bin Suroor. This filly ran well when second to stablemate Soft Whisper on dirt here last time and with that filly going on to win the UAE 1000 Guineas by 7 lengths on her next start the form has been given a significant boost. She is entitled to strip fitter and will enjoy the switch back to turf so ticks plenty of boxes. First Smile, who is a stablemate to the selection, may well be the biggest danger. She was only beaten a length by Topper Bill on return last month but is better than that so should reverse that form.

Southwell 2.55 Lion’s Vigil (7/4)
Good looking sort who built on a promising second over C&D to make the breakthrough last time; he knuckled down well and was always coming out on top; 5lb penalty but scope to progress again so obvious chance.
I liked the way LION’S VIGIL won over track and trip last month and given he is open to improvement I think he’ll be tough to beat here under a 5lb penalty. Kevin Stott takes over from Ben Curtis and I can see this son of Kitten’s Joy proving a warm order come post time. Even at the time of writing his odds are contracting. Drew Breeze won well on penultimate start but couldn’t back that up when only third last time, one spot behind the selection, and I’ll be surprised if he manages to reverse that form with the favourite looking progressive now. At a bigger price Restive could go well as he is proven over C&D and shaped better than previous runs when fourth last time.
Daily Double
