NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS OVER JUMPS AT NEWCASTLE ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON!
Newcastle 4.20 Molly Carew (15/8)
Likeable mare who appreciated the switch back to fences winning well at Taunton despite racing keenly; got no further than the second in a good race at Exeter last month; strong claims back in a handicap now.
In a race won by Momella MOLLY CAREW got no further than the second flight unseating Millie Wonnacott having made a mistake. She was sent off at 25/1 though and it was a big ask. Prior to that she ran out a convincing winner under this jockey and I think she looks well placed to bounce back here. She remains well handicapped on her old form and granted a clear round I think she’ll have too much for Gipsy Lee Rose. The latter isn’t a bad mare but she was presented a good opportunity last time and just looked to lack a gear change in the finish so I think she’ll have her work cutout trying to pick up the favourite. Leverock Lass opened her account at Wetherby but didn’t impress last time.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS ON THE AW AT SOUTHWELL ON TUESDAY!
Southwell 6.40 Jewel Maker (10/3)
Won 2 of his last 4 and really impressed over C&D last time, making smooth headway before running on well to win convincingly; 4lb rise shouldn’t be enough to stop him and looks the most likely winner.
I think JEWEL MAKER could have a lot more to come on Fibresand and he looks worth keeping on side against these under just a 4lb rise. He impressed last time and travelled really well on the surface for the first time. If he builds on that he should make it 2-2 over track and trip. Star Of St James loves it here too and he did have excuses last time but I think it’s a big ask off a mark of 77 and he’s going to need a career best to beat the favourite. Snow Ocean would definitely be capable off this mark if bouncing back so I think he might emerge as the danger to the selection. Reaction Time will strip fitter now and is also given a second look but again I think the fav is much more likely.
