NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 9 AT DELTA DOWNS ON MONDAY NIGHT!
Race 9 Delta Downs 9.35 Gaspergou (6/5)
Useful type who has been knocking on the door this season finishing runner-up three of the last four; bumped into a decent yardstick over track and trip last month and won’t need much more to make the breakthrough.
Not a great race but that means GASPERGOU has a huge chance of making the breakthrough. He has shaped encouragingly in four starts this campaign and he won’t need to find much more to belatedly open his account. He finished a good second last time with the pair nicely clear and that form entitles him to leading claims in this field. Wildfire Storm was also second last time but he looks more exposed in comparison to the selection. Could run well but I don’t think he’ll be good enough. My Call is lightly raced after just 6 starts and could find the necessary improvement to chase home the favourite. Hard to recommend much else in this line-up.

THE US NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 8 AT TURF PARADISE TONIGHT!
Race 8 Turf Paradise 11.40 Line Call (13/8)
Promising filly who has won 2 of her first 3 starts; impressed last time drawing away in the closing stages to win convincingly; not seen for 124 days but scope to improve and this looks a good starting point.
This is a good race for the grade but LINE CALL stands out. She has won 2 of her first 3 starts and is improving so if she is fit enough back from an absence she will take a lot of beating. I loved her attitude last time in a $50K Stakes race so this looks a good starting point for her to complete the hat-trick. 13/8 at the time of writing looks a decent price and I doubt she’ll be as big as that in the Stateside market come post time. Sacagewea has form that ties in with a couple of these and she is open to improvement after just 5 runs so may well emerge as the main danger to the selection. Coastal Run made a bright start before blowing out last time. Might be overpriced in terms of a place.
