THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS OVER JUMPS AT CARLISLE ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON!
Carlisle 2.20 Henry Gondoff (6/5)
Needed the experience when down the field behind Bear Ghylls on hurdles debut at Lingfield; showed promise when third at Wetherby; off the mark impressively last time; can do better yet and taken to follow up.
This looks a match on paper but I’m strongly in the HENRY GONDOFF camp for Jonjo O’Neill. He slammed Rockstar Ronnie by 11 lengths and that horse has won his next two starts for Dan Skelton. The form looks rock solid and if he improves again I think he’ll have too much for Royal Arcade. The latter won easily at Carlisle but wasn’t tested by any means and he’s coming up against a promising horse here. Headscarf Lil is best of the rest but he is going to need to find more to trouble the front pair albeit this longer trip does look in his favour. It will be interesting to see who leads as in an ideal world I’d like to see the selection get a toe into it before looking to finish the stronger.

THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS OVER IN IRELAND AT NAAS ON SUNDAY!
Naas 5.10 Star Of Cashel (9/4)
C&D winner who ran a cracker when only beaten narrowly in the Irish Lincolnshire at the Curragh last weekend; drop back to 7f sure to suit and big chance of getting back in the winners enclosure; hard to catch.
The Irish Lincolnshire is often a strong piece of form and STAR OF CASHEL ran a big race to finish fourth. He travelled notably well for a long way before failing to go the pace of those ahead of him in the closing stages. The drop back to 7f looks a good move here and he can take full advantage. He will be hitting peak fitness and looks to have plenty going for him. Hightimeyouwon was last seen winning over this trip at Cork in September and won fresh last season so looks the main danger to the selection. He is 6lb higher with the visor back on but he’s going to need to put in a big performance to peg back a race-fit rival. Wonder Elzaam and Takeachancejimmy look best of the rest.
