NAP – Best selection of the evening

THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 9 AT GULFSTREAM TONIGHT!

Race 9 Gulfstream 9.16 Spotters Hill (11/8)

Promising colt who showed a great deal of ability when going down narrowly on debut over the extended mile here last month; sure to know more now and should take plenty of catching in this field.

We head to Gulfstream tonight for our best bet Stateside and SPOTTERS HILL looks well placed to go one better. He ran a big race on debut to finish second and under positive tactics he should be hard to catch tonight. The only other speed in the race is Seizing The Dream and strictly on the clock he should always have that rival held. He is sure to improve from that initial experience and if he does he will be tough to beat. Courageously ran no sort of race last time but back on turf could go well and looks one of the dangers. My Sea Cottage should also do better at some point so has to be considered as well. Hard to recommend much else at bigger prices in a race lacking strength in depth.

Race 4 Golden Gate Fields 11.03 Alvaaro (6/4)

Useful type who caught the eye on this surface for the first time finishing second over track and trip last month; can improve on that and previous form on dirt stacks up so big chance of going one better tonight.

This looks a great opportunity on paper for ALVAARO to go one better. He impressed last time bumping into a decent yardstick in Union Dance and if he improves on that he will be tough to beat tonight. In a race lacking speed I can see him pushing forward and he might always be dictating. Combat Zone looks the most obvious threat to the selection and while he ran well over track and trip last time he did weaken notably towards the finish and that doesn’t bode well in trying to peg back the selection late here. Orczy was poor last time but showed promise before that and might run better here but has a bit to prove. Freeport Joe won last time and is definitely respected as well.
