Race 4 Mahoning Valley 7.08 Lapis Storm (11/10)
Useful mare who has won 5 of her last 6 and looked better than ever last time; won her last start on dirt and aggressive tactics likely to be deployed again; hard to oppose with the promise of more to come.
The US NAP won last night so hopefully we can follow up this evening. One thing I will mention is the price can often collapse in the run up to the race so it might be worth taking the early prices when our selections go live. We head to Mahoning Valley tonight and the hat-trick surely beckons for LAPIS STORM here? She is a mare at the top of her game and the switch back to dirt won’t inconvenience her. She is relatively lightly raced for her age so I can see her improving again. She will be ridden forward and I just don’t see anything in here good enough to peg her back. L. A. Star stayed on strongly to get up in the closing stages on penultimate start and is the danger. Not so good last time.

Race 6 Turf Paradise 11.44 Aunt Ruthie (13/8)
Promising filly who created a big impression storming clear to win on debut by over 8 lengths over track and trip at the start of the month; sure to improve off the back of that initial effort; one to keep on side.
We head to Turf Paradise on Tuesday night for our second best bet Stateside and unbeaten filly AUNT RUTHIE looks a good bet to make it 2-2. She really impressed on debut and she could be a nice prospect in the making. This doesn’t look much tougher and it’s going to take a good one to stop her following up. Last Punch made the breakthrough on penultimate start but struggled up in grade last time. She’ll find this easier so she has to be respected but I just think she’s bumping into one in the shape of the favourite who looks very promising. Princess Tale was ahead of Elegant Cricket last time and should confirm that form. Looks best of the rest.
