THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS ON THE FLAT AT NEWMARKET ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON!
Newmarket 4.50 Secret Protector (1/1)
War Front colt who looked progressive winning over in Dubai at Meydan in February; returned with a fine effort in defeat when second to Highland Avenue here earlier in the month; clear on official ratings and should have these covered.
Just the four runners head to post for this so it’s a shame we’re getting quite a skinny price about SECRET PROTECTOR but he is comfortably the one to beat. He is rated 107 so is 8lb clear from Percy’s Lad. He remains open to further improvement and this extra furlong looks sure to suit. Mohaafeth has impressed winning his last two but this requires another step forward and while I like him as a horse going forward he has enough to find to make the fav a really strong bet. Inigo Jones is by New Approach and got off the mark at Chelmsford last time but again this is much tougher and he might just struggle to land a blow at this level. Hopefully it doesn’t turn to tactical.

Goodwood 2.05 Lilac Road (2/1)
Mastercraftsman filly who really impressed back from 178 days off the track to win comfortably at Kempton earlier this month; still improving and while this is tougher her 2yo form was solid so leading credentials.
We head to Goodwood on Saturday for our second best bet and LILAC ROAD looks to have a great chance of making it back-to-back wins. This requires another step up but you’d be foolish to rule out further improvement and I can see her justifying favouritism. Amniarix is a filly I like too and she shaped well when third in a Listed race at Kempton last month. She switches back to turf now but needs to find further improvement to trouble the favourite. Agincourt is capable of a big run but needs to bounce back. She has had a wind op though which could help. Maamora is fairly prominent in the betting but this will require a big effort to win back from 251 days off the track.
Daily Double
The Daily Double consists of both the NAP and NB and is a great way of covering our two best bets of the day to maximise profit. They run at Goodwood and Newmarket on Saturday.
