Race 5 Santa Anita 10.46 Missy P. (4/5)

Exciting filly by Into Mischief who made the perfect start winning on debut here last month, ten lengths clear at the line very much head in chest; sure to improve and if she does she should have no issue making it 2-2.

The NAP is chasing a hat-trick and we head to Santa Anita tonight for our strongest bet. MISSY P. won impressively last month and with scope to keep improving she is taken to remain unbeaten. Astute won her first two but was found out when only fourth last time and has enough to prove after that. Looks to be the biggest danger to the selection as while Stella Noir also made a winning start that form doesn’t amount to much so she’s going to need to improve a great deal to trouble the front pair. Heels Up looks out of her depth on what we’ve seen so far. The selection should win this before going on to better things so hopefully the first part of the double lands before the Kentucky Derby later.

Race 12 Churchill Downs 11.57 Essential Quality (9/4)

Tapit colt who has looked a bit of a monster to me from a top barn and if he continues to improve he will be a danger to all in this and looks the most likely winner as he bids to make it a perfect 5-5; keep firmly on side.

I think ESSENTIAL QUALITY is undoubtedly the one to beat in the Kentucky Derby. This colt is just getting better and better and if he steps forward again he should have too much for these. I know he was a bit workmanlike in the Blue Grass but I like to see that in a horse when everything doesn’t go their way and they still get the job done. He should keep progressing and while this is competitive if he is at his best the others are all playing catch-up. Rock Your World is 3-3 and is certainly a danger if he continues to progress. Known Agenda is also chasing a hat-trick and looks progressive so I think he’ll run into a place. Looks quite good value for that so might be worth a saver.
