Race 5 Santa Anita 11.18 Speedy Justice (4/5)
Exciting colt who created a big impression storming clear to win by over 7 lengths on debut; improved again to follow up last time and scope to improve now back from 302 days off the track; step up in trip also a plus.
It’s hard to look past unbeaten colt SPEEDY JUSTICE here. He has been really impressive in two starts to date and he only needs to continue his progression on return to make it 3-3 here. He is already quite short in the market but expect the money to keep pouring on to him. Commander is one of the dangers as he has won 2 of his last 3. He was held at this level last time though so has enough to prove against the potential of the fav for me. Tilted Towers has failed to fire the last twice but his form before that reads well so he could run well too. If the selection is as good as I’m hoping though they won’t lay a glove. Royal Trump has some good form in the book but looks up against it here.

Race 8 Golden Gate Fields 1.10 Union Dance (10/11)
Brought up the hat-trick in good style over the extended mile here last month and looks to have plenty going for him again as he bids to make it four wins straight; should get a good pace to run down and is hard to oppose.
It’s a bit of a wait for Sunday’s NB Stateside as we head to Golden Gate in the early hours of Monday morning. UNION DANCE is looking to make it four wins in a row and it would take a brave man to oppose him. He was always getting there last time and with an end-to-end gallop likely again here I can’t see anything finishing as good as him. Descartes is held by the selection on that last run and really faded in the closing stages so I’m not sure why he’s so close in the betting. Bottle Of Smoke is consistent but you’d be surprised if he won this. Looks vulnerable to me but might place. Ready Say Go was also left standing by the selection last time but wasn’t beaten far so might be the one to finish second.
