NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON AGAIN YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT YORK ON WEDNESDAY!
York 3.10 Noon Star (2/1)
Galileo filly who quickly improved from her debut run to win head in chest at Nottingham; took another big step forward to win impressively at Wetherby up to this trip last time; this harder again but she can keep progressing.
Teona is favourite here for Roger Varian and while she is clearly very promising herself I do expect them to flip flop with NOON STAR given how well she won the last day. She looks a filly firmly on the upgrade and the hat-trick beckons. She is impeccably bred and was notably strong at the line last time. She will keep stepping forward as her stamina is drawn out and she is my best bet on the card at York on Wednesday. Mystery Angel impressed at Newmarket in the Pretty Polly but would need to step forward again. Snowfall looks to be a decent price with her sights lowered and being stepped up in trip and could run much better than her odds suggest.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS AT BATH ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT!
Bath 8.20 Adace (11/4)
Ran her best race to date when denied just a neck at Windsor on her first attempt over a mile last month; can build on that and if she does she will be a danger to all here; good chance to make the breakthrough.
This track should suit ADACE and if she builds on that cracking run at Windsor last month then she should be capable of going a place better. She was running on strongly at the finish and found all bar the lightly raced improver Sir Taweel too strong at the line. She is up 4lb but that won’t be enough to anchor her if she steps forward again. Devil’s Cub is a past C&D winner and was a creditable third on return at Kempton. He didn’t back that up last time though but is still a danger to the selection. Tick Toch didn’t run badly when fourth at Kempton and also comes into the reckoning on that form. Hard to see anything else getting involved in a race that lacks strength in depth.
