NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) WON YESTERDAY AND RUNS AT HAYDOCK ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON!
Haydock 3.50 Hoodwinker (7/4)
Promising filly who showed promise amidst greenness when second on debut; backed that up in France on next start and deservedly made the breakthrough last time; more to come yet and looks one to keep firmly on side.
The NAP was back in the winners enclosure at Sandown yesterday so hopefully we can find you another winner before heading into the weekend. HOODWINKER attracted a fair bit of support on debut but she was outpaced and ran green before flying home in the closing stages. She stepped forward again when runner-up in France before appreciating the step up in trip to make the breakthrough last time. While the form of that run is nothing special she almost certainly has more to offer and looks well placed to follow up. Arctic Emperor is going the right way and ran well when denied just a head last time. With more to come he looks the danger to the selection. Doctor Churchill a bit overpriced.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) WON AGAIN AND IS NOW ON A FOUR-TIMER!
Goodwood 2.15 Ready To Venture (2/1)
Kingman filly who looked to need the experience on debut at Newmarket but improved to get off the mark at Yarmouth next start; encouraging effort when third to Creative Flair at Ascot on return last month; will improve again up in trip.
Given William Haggas has handed READY TO VENTURE an Irish Oaks entry connections must be expecting a big run here. Her form is certainly useful given she was only beaten a length and three-quarters by Creative Flair at Ascot on return. She will strip fitter for the run and with further improvement to come as her stamina is drawn out this looks a good opportunity for her to win again before potentially going on to better things. She is a daughter of Kingman, out of a Sea The Stars mare and is certainly bred to be smart. Lope De Vega filly Talbeyah is the obvious danger for Owen Burrows. She showed promise on debut and improved to win at Chepstow on return. This is tougher but she can do better.
