NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS OVER IN IRELAND AT THE CURRAGH ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON!
Curragh 2.40 Broome (5/4)
Tough colt who continues to impress and was nicely on top at the finish to beat Helvic Dream here last time; this track and trip suits him well and proven on soft ground; deserves a win at the top level; hard to oppose.
Three wins from three starts probably doesn’t paint a true picture about BROOME as he hasn’t always looked comfortable in his races more so on penultimate start when clinging on from Thundering Nights. The truth is though this course and distance really suits him and he was particularly convincing last time. He has progressed with every start beginning his campaign at Listed level before taking a Group 3 last month and then Group 2 at the start of this month. He is yet to win at Group 1 level but everything suggests he is going to go close. He is proven in soft ground which is another plus and it’s no surprise to see him favourite for this. Serpentine should set a good gallop to run down.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS OVER JUMPS AT FAKENHAM ON SUNDAY!
Fakenham 4.45 Castel Gandolfo (15/8)
Shaped with plenty of promise since sent hurdling and bumped into a couple of decent types the last twice; denied just a neck last month and if he improves again he looks to have found a good opportunity to make the breakthrough.
With form figures of 2322 over hurdles CASTEL GANDOLFO looks set to go one better. He is clearly a talented individual and I don’t think he’s done a lot wrong especially in recent starts. He bumped into Tulin at Taunton and then missed out to Ernesto at Exeter going down just a neck at the line. This track should suit and with more to come he gets the vote to come out on top. Dynamite Kentucky disappointed in a bumper when last seen at Ffos Las but should have a bright future over hurdles. He lacks experience but if he takes to it he should give the selection a race. Dancing Doris chased home Bucko’s Boy on hurdling debut here last time but needs to improve on that to trouble the top 2.
