NAP – Best selection of the evening
THE NAP (BEST BET) RUNS ON THE FLAT AT SALISBURY ON SATURDAY NIGHT!
Salisbury 6.15 Colombe (4/5)
Mehmas filly who showed improved form to open her account in good style at Windsor on return; open to further progress and should get a strong pace to aim at as she bids to follow up; hard to oppose.
Both the NAP and NB are shorter than ideal on Saturday but I’m keen to get the DD back firing! We head to Salisbury on Saturday night for our best bet and COLOMBE is difficult to get away from as she bids to make it 2-2 this season. She merely had to be shaken up to score at Windsor and she looks well treated on that piece of form. With further progress to come it’s hard to ignore her chances here. Toptime is fast but he is likely to set it up for the favourite by going hard early. He is the closest in the betting but I can just see the selection latching on, getting settled, before picking him off in the closing stages. Rose All Day is probably best of a moderate rest. She is lightly raced but needs to improve.
NB – Second best selection of the day
THE NEXT BEST (SECOND BEST BET) RUNS ON THE FLAT AT CHESTER ON SATURDAY!
Chester 4.25 Al Shibli (1/1)
Shamardal colt who made a bright start chasing home a nice prospect on debut at Newbury, needing the experience; should be more streetwise now and looks well placed to go a couple better; armed with plenty of potential.
I thought AL SHIBLI was pretty clueless on debut so the fact he was only beaten a length and a half means there is plenty to be hopeful about today. The winner Dukebox is 2-2 now and looks a nice colt himself so the form might be worth following. He is sure to know more now and with improvement a near certainty I’m finding it hard to see how he doesn’t go close. No Nay Never colt I’m A Gambler was only run out of it late on at Yarmouth on debut and while that form doesn’t look as strong he has to be feared as the main danger as he can also take a step forward now. Of the rest Point Lynas might be value for a place if he has learned to settle as he just ran too freely on debut.
