THE US NAP (BEST BET) RUNS IN RACE 10 AT LONE STAR PARK ON MONDAY NIGHT!

Race 10 Lone Star Park 1.03 Laura’s Light (4/5)

Improving filly who was much the best at Santa Anita over this trip last time; more to come now and hitting peak fitness so obvious chance of taking this out even more so if she gets on the lead early; should win.

There isn’t a great deal of pace on here so it wouldn’t surprise me to see LAURA’S LIGHT push forward and make all. She won in really good style at the start of the month and with scope to progress further she looks well placed to follow up. She previously contested a Grade 2 so that shows just how much they think of her. She could prove herself at that level again if she wins this. Tuned has been running well without winning but looks a danger as that second to Pocket Square last time was a very good effort. Might just be bumping into one again though. Summer In Saratoga stumbled at the start and lost her rider last time. Previously she had won 4 of her last 5 so also worth considering.

Race 9 Santa Anita 1.24 Charmaine’s Mia (6/5)

Progressive mare who comes here chasing a four-timer after galloping rivals into submission at Santa Anita last month; certainly earned a crack at the top level now and looks to have plenty going for her again.

We head to Santa Anita overnight for our second best bet Stateside and CHARMAINE’S MIA can make it four in a row and confirm herself as one of the best mares around. She is at her best under aggressive tactics so expect them to make plenty of use of her before hopefully always holding on in the closing stages. She showed a good attitude last time and always looked to be doing enough. She is the only obvious speed in the race too so a soft lead might not be impossible. If they give her rope to play with she won’t come back. Keeper Ofthe Stars looks the one most likely to chase her home as she won on return and then went down just a head last time. This tougher but clearly in good nick right now.
