THE US NAP (BEST BET) WON AGAIN LAST NIGHT AND RUNS AT BELMONT TONIGHT!

Race 8 Belmont Park 9.40 Spungie (4/5)

Promising filly who ran a cracker denied just a nose on debut; didn’t back that up next start but bounced back to win impressively on dirt in April; denied just a neck over a mile here last time; more to come and should win this.

Hard to look past the progressive SPUNGIE here. This filly is clearly plenty talented and while she is yet to win on turf she has only had 3 starts on it and has been denied a nose and a neck so with further improvement should take care of these. Chasing Cara should put good pace to the race and I can just see the selection tracking her through before proving too strong at the business end. Pandamom was a few places behind the selection last time so will need to step forward from that to pose a threat tonight. Still one of the main dangers though. Big Al’s Gal also ran in that race and looks held. Chasing Cara is possibly the each way value as she is a big price given how consistent she has been.

Race 7 Gulfstream 8.59 Siren’s Lucky Song (6/4)

Improving filly who got off the mark at the fourth time of asking over the extended 6f here in May; ran creditably on first attempt over a mile last time and this easier so big chance of getting back in the winners enclosure.

The NB was also successful Stateside last night and we head to Gulfstream tonight as we bid to follow up. SIREN’S LUCKY SONG ran well in a better race than this last time and with further improvement to come she can get back to winning ways and make it 2 wins from her last 3. There isn’t much pace on here so it wouldn’t surprise me to see her push forward and look to grind these into submission. When she won she raced handily so I think it suits her. Miss Mikaela impressively made the breakthrough last time but this is tougher so she’ll need to back that up. Definitely the danger though. Miss Italy is held by the selection on recent form but continues to run well so also enters calculations.
