Curragh 1.35 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden 7f

Hard to look past Dubawi filly CONCERT HALL here. I know she was turned over at odds-on at Fairyhouse on debut but she looked to be learning on the job and the winner Pennine Hills had it all go her way making all the running. She is sure to improve and if she does she will have these in trouble. Aidan O’Brien is operating at a 20% strike rate in the past fortnight so they are running really well right now.

Kerkiyra is the threat as she shaped with plenty of promise when fourth over C&D last month, nearest finish. With more to come I think she’ll give the fav a race and I fancy the pair to draw clear from these. Dawn Approach filly Litteratus is quite a big price and it wouldn’t surprise me if she managed to run into a place.

Concert Hall 5/4

Curragh 2.10 Romanised Minstrel Stakes (Group 2) 7f

On ratings this looks like ORDER OF AUSTRALIA’s race to lose even if it is his first try over 7 furlongs. His run at Royal Ascot wasn’t as bad as it suggests (8th behind Palace Pier) but he will come on a lot for the run. The rest haven’t really done it at this level and O’Brien’s Group 1 winner will take some beating if being at his best at this trip. Hopefully it’s an opening double for the yard.

The main danger for me is Ace Aussie who finished second at Leopardstown behind the top class Poetic Flare and followed it up with a good run at that track again in May. He looks at his best over this trip and he should run well. Njord completes the shortlist.

Curragh 2.45 Irish Stallion Farms Ebf Fillies Maiden 1m

This is wide open so I’ve decided to take a chance on TELLTHEMIMHERE as I think she can put her experience to good use. She was only beaten a head at Leopardstown last time and while this has the potential to be a tougher race I think she can still do better and at her odds I think she is worth chancing against these. Even her run on return was encouraging so maybe she has turned a corner now.

Give Her A Squeeze is favourite and deservedly so after chasing Friendly home at Bellewstown. She is lightly raced so should step forward again and deserves her place in the market. I Siyou Baby (well named) can also improve and looks best of the rest.

Curragh 3.20 Irish Stallion Farms Ebf Fillies Handicap 1m

This looks a fairly open race with CELTIC CROWN appealing the most after a very nice win at Killarney midweek. She is actually better off at the weights as the claimer takes off 7lb so the 6lb penalty shouldn’t be an issue. The way she went clear at Killarney suggests there is plenty to come and if in the same form he will win this. I thought she’d be favourite over Mia Mento to be honest.

There are plenty of improvers in the field with Mia Mento and New Hill likely to be well fancied but they have to show their quality over a mile. I actually think the main danger might be Flagged who is improving all the time and stays well and is a fairly big price in comparison.

Curragh 3.20

Celtic Crown 10/3

Curragh 3.55 Kilboy Estate Stakes (Group 2) 1m1f

This is a good renewal but I’m keen to side with Gleneagles filly INSINUENDO here. She won a Group 3 at just the third time of asking at Naas and that was impressive. She stayed on well without threatening behind Thundering Nights and Santa Barbara in the Pretty Polly Stakes here last time and with potential to do better after just a handful of starts I want to keep her firmly on side. Even at the time of writing the money is coming so she could end up being the gamble of the race.

Create Belief has won 3 of her last 4 and produced a carer best at Royal Ascot last time. She looks the one to beat but the selection could really serve it up to her. Angel Power was also thriving when last seen but this will test her on first start for 8 months. Still definitely worth a second look.

Curragh 4.30 Cavalor Equine Nutrition Maiden 1m4f

As with most maidens this is a bit of a puzzle especially with plenty of these looking like they will improve for the step up to this trip but I do actually like SHINPACHI who is proven over this distance. His run at Tipperary would be good enough to win this on what we have seen so far. He may have finished third but he met interference and I expect a big run.

The main danger has to be Zaynudin who has run in two hot maidens behind classy sorts in Sir Lamorak and Wordsworth and he should be better at this trip. Of the rest you would expect Yarrawonga to be better than he has shown so far but he is hard to fancy and has enough to prove.

Curragh 4.30

Shinpachi 2/1

Curragh 5.00 Sycamore Lodge Equine Hospital Handicap 1m2f

I think MODDY PODDLE will go off shorter than 5/2 come post time. She impressed winning by 2 lengths at Gowran last time and now she has her head in front she can continue to progress. That visual impression was backed up by the clock so it will be disappointing if she doesn’t go close. Hopefully Hell Bent gives her a toe in and she is in the perfect position to strike.

Alex D steps up to this trip for the first time and could step forward so looks the threat. Chicago Black Hawk also catches the eye to some extent but does need to bounce back on handicap debut. Given the shape of the race I think he will so he has to be considered. Ratib is back in trip but has a bit to find.

Curragh 5.00

Moddy Poddle 5/2

Curragh 5.30 Finlay Volvo Handicap 5f

For a 15-runner handicap this is seriously competitive with it being 11/2 the field at the time of writing. As with most big handicaps there is plenty of opportunities for nice each way prices and SCREEN SIREN fits that bill. She won nicely at Cork over 5 furlongs before not being as good over 6 furlongs at Naas last time. Back down to 5 furlongs she should be seen in a better light and I would expect her to outrun her odds.

Amazing Emma is rightly at the head of the market after an easy win last time and still gets to run off a lowly mark of 63 which she is more than capable of taking advantage of and I expect her to be challenging at the business end with the selection.
